flower power: a light-up corsage kit
The history of the corsage goes back to Ancient Greece, where small bundles of flowers and herbs were thought to be able to ward off evil spirits, and so would be worn for protection on special occasions.
What qualifies as an occasion special enough for a corsage? You can make and give one to your date for a school dance. You can make and give one to your bestie for their birthday. You can make and give one to yourself today, because every day is a special occasion, really!
This is a kit to make your own light up corsage using conductive thread and sewable LEDs. It contains:
- conductive thread
- needles
- sewable LEDs
- lavender, pink, and mint pastel alligator clips
- a coin cell battery
- a battery holder with a power switch
- a zine with instructions, an explanation of the electronics, examples, and inspiration
- a lavender and mint caboodle to serve as your electronics tool kit
Flowers and other decorations not included, but can be bought at craft supply shops, re-use shops, or thrift shops!
The zine was co-written by former Bubblesort Zines intern Cora Cogshall.
